Over 100 people are reported to have been killed in a bomb blast in the central Nigerian city of Jos. This follow in the wake of a number of recent attacks in the country which has left over 1,500 dead. There is a high level threat of ongoing terrorism in this area. Before travelling to this region it is recommended that you take professional security advice and check with the latest advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office who recommend against all travel to certain areas in the north of the county and all bust essential travel to many other areas in the country.

There is also a high level threat of kidnapping and violent crime throughout the country and travellers are advised to avoid demonstrations and areas of civil unrest.
